My point was should new laws be made in our country for special interest groups instead of requiring any special interest groups to learn and live by our laws already in existence.

There was a time, not that long ago, when your question would have been deemed rhetorical at best, ridiculous at worst. That was when Canadians thought they'd built something laudable and worthwhile, the merits of which attracted people to a better place; and that the right thing for us to do was to share it with those who would contribute to strengthening what we'd built. That doesn't seem to be policy any more.
