No, it is wrong to assume that our nation is safe. Our nation's safety is pegged to the safety of the world. It takes just one attack in the US to blow that comfort feeling away. Prior to 9/11, we had the same situation overseas with terroism as we have today.

Bush lied about the Mission Accomplished sign and said the Navy put it up. Not true. The White House operatives did and with his full support. Bush also lied on the aircraft carrier when he said he flew the plane in, and that he was a fighter pilot. In fact, though he may have held the stick with an expert pilot next to him acting like a teacher in driver's ed, Bush has never flown solo, was drummed out of pilot training and couldn't even fly a Cessna in 1976, as eyewitness accounts prove.

Bush also lied about WMD's, his reasons for going to war, coalition support, and through close surrogates about Iraqi oil paying for the war, the cost of the war, the cost of Medicare, Saddam-AL Qaida connections, that he took terrorism very seriously before 9-11, that he reported for duty in 1972, pulled no special strings to evade the draft, etc. etc. etc.
