I was being deliberately annoying about German food, because I am from Louisiana and think of myself as Creole/Cajun. There is a wonderful German restaurant in Front Royal, Stadt Kaffee, which I recommend highly. stadtkaffee.com But when I go to Pitman, Pennsylvania for the annual Hepler family reunion, the food those people (Mennonites and Pennsylvania Dutch) eat is so plain, the only seasoning they use is salt and pepper and not much of that.
