If you really want me to dig up people of the left who thought it was urgent to work against Saddam in non-military ways

What was their proposal? The main proposal from the left was to lift sanctions (citing the infamous 500,000 dead baby figure), which, would have left Saddam in power and free as air to go shopping for whatever toys he pleased.

How this could be construed as anything other than working for Saddam (it was, after all, what he wanted), I never could figure out.
