This should be interesting... There is a very fine line between inducing "stress" in a prisoner in hopes of breaking them, and using torture.. You cannot threaten them verbally... You're not permitted to use physical force either.. But you can put them in such a situation where they create their "own personal hell", based upon their imagination.. For example.. it is permissible to wire that guy up to those "electrodes", but you can't tell him that if he falls off the box that he'll be electrocuted. He has to "imagine" the repercussions for himself.. Personally, I think sleep deprivation is a preferred method to deal with them.. It creates disorientation and mental weakening of the will... Again... let's remember that these prisoners are some VERY bad people in their own right.. They have information that could save lives if they can be convinced to talk. They have been committing their OWN atrocities against innocent people. But there are rules to what we can do.. Rules that prevent us from falling to the same de-humanizing level that they reside upon.. You can be certain that, were the tables turned, they would not hesitate to use force against any prisoners they were interrogating.. Hawk

The prison photos are shocking only in the context in which they are viewed. An entire industry and the highest(??) use of the web involves nakedness. Go to 'Orgy Photos' on Yhoo to search and find 1,120,000 hits, with people being paid to engage in the trade. But it is shocking and unexpected that our own soldiers would conduct themselves in such a degrading activity, and I believe the statement that MI encouraged the actions. On Saddams scale of 1 to 10 in torture, this may rate a 1. Five would be to lower a person slowly into a food chopper until he disappeared. A nine would be to pull him out before he disappeared completely and continue the interrogation. Sig@headswillroll.com
