JotW,

Here's what I said to start the string of posts we've exchanged.

Here's a hint for you. The total deaths caused by these two deliberate acts by American leaders is minimally 1,200,000 and more likely about 1,500,000 Iraqis murdered at the hands of Americans from 1991 to the present.

Just who is the monster, exactly?

Of course, in my mind, the U.S. government is the monster. The flavor of the year, as far as whether Bush or Clinton, is simply a question of degree of wickedness. Many more Iraqis died per annum due the sanctions regime than due to the hot war that Bush has brought us into. So, I'm not saying Clinton is a saint.

What I'm trying to say is that for the last couple decades, American governmental policy toward Iraq has been manipulative, evil and genocidal.

The difference between the Bush 41/Bush 43 and the Clinton Administrations is a question of the degree of assault on the Iraqi public. Not a question of malign versus benign policy.
