A concentration camp is what has been established in Guantanamo Bay. You might think the name isn't nice, but that's what it is. You might prefer to call it something else, such as an internment camp. Euphemisms don't change the essential nature of what's happening. People who might be Islamic Jihad threats are imprisoned because if they are released, they might act against the USA. That's just what was done in Dachau and under much more trying circumstances for Germany, when they had 30% unemployment and a major depression on their hands. We don't hear much about American politicians lecturing China about human rights these days do we? <Now you sit in New Zealand, which nobody cares about, > Actually, some of us do. I think in popularity stakes, New Zealand might even rate higher than the USA with a lot of people around the world [if they've heard of it]. You speak from a myopic USA-centric point of view. The USA is something like 4% of the world's population. Most of the world isn't in the USA. Little of it is. I wouldn't say I'm criticizing CB, just the "millions of murdered Jews by 1941" comment. Which, as she pointed out, was beside the point made by PB which was that Hitler felt sad about his long-planned hatred of Jews and their bulk murder. I was being a bit pedantic. Neither am I criticizing the USA particularly. I'm just pointing out the trend. First we get the problem. Then we get the concentration camps, lack of trial, no human rights, ho habeas corpus, then we get ... ? what's next? Oh, we've had photos of prisoners not enjoying Geneva Convention prisoner of war rights. Not to mention a few murders of prisoners it seems. It's a trend Ish. Trends lead to places, some of which we'd prefer to avoid in hind-sight. Mqurice
