Maybe not the face of the war but it has put american soldiers at greater risk

I do not believe that. Those politicians who spout that rhetoric have not yet accepted the jihad statement nor have they accepted that this is war.

I do not think the Muslim militant extremists who have vowed to kill all Christians, kill all Jews and kill all Americans are going to be harsher because of this incident.

Nor do I believe they would go easier on American GIs if the incident never occurred.

This is war. For soldiers it is a fight to the death. The terrorists give no quarter...never ever. No amount of kindly behavior on our part is going to change their desire to kill us.

Doing the same thing over and over while continuing to expect different results is insanity. We have tried acquiescence, cajoling, ignoring, and other passive techniques over and over with negative results. We have now accepted that our only option left is to fight back.

War is ugly...expect more ugliness.
