Sounds she like she had an idealized view about a capital city, most of which are too crowded and not as nice as advertised. Zurich is the only major city I ever saw that was squeaky clean. And London is better now than 20 years ago.

Paris is not my favorite, FWIW. I much, much prefer the French countryside and the coast.

I've heard the same thing

my best friend hated Paris, they were so rude

it's a city I've always wanted to see [the art], but the comments I've heard are so discouraging

so many cities, so little time, hence it keeps getting pushed down the list [till I hear something good or get connected in some way]
