the military awards commission was deciding on whether to award Kerry.

You're missing the issue. Most critics are not saying he didn't serve honorably and bravely while he was in VN. They are are merely he is unfit to be President. Most criticism directed at Kerry relates to what he did AFTER leaving VN.

Kerry has a sterling military record. The rightwing is terrified by this so much concoct ways to destroy it, even if that means total lies, slander, libel and fabrication. They will attack Kerry's wife, kids, war record, religion, anything. Nothing is sacred to them.
