Win or lose there will be no suicide hangings for Kerry. I know that America is a helluva lot bigger than Kerry...bigger even than a president Kerry.

This aint the military Mike. Loyalty in politics can be tantamount to political suicide. That may be the greatest hurdle we have to overcome to win this war. The mob is very quick to turn on our very best (like Rumsfeld)... All it takes is constant spin from their political adversaries and the press and a steady trickle of causalties to get people to start stabbing them in the back. If a swing voter like you can so easily become convinced that a Kerry, Levin, Beers team can win this war before a Rumsfeld then I'd have to say the US could be doomed. Loyalty and resolve no longer seem to have any meaning to most Americans.
