if you don't have an ethernet card on your computer, then what does your cable modem plug into?

errr, is it a USB modem?

dawg, the ethernet card is also often called a NIC [network interface card]. Newer computers all have them. If not, they are cheap and easy to install. Remember, you're going to save $22 each month. If you want to stick with Linksys it's $7.50 after rebate amazon.com

You can add it to the router order to save shipping.

But first make sure your computers don't already have them. A NIC has a receptacle similar to a phone dial-up modem, but bigger. You can see it on the back of the PC.
