*OT*

just think it's odd that mowing down people with a .50 cal. is OK but making them take off their clothes and jump into a pile is incredibly evil.

true, tommaso..

if the great robert mapplethorpe had snapped those images they'd be hailed as art and be hanging in the metropolitan museum of art

But when you went to military school you probably knew that eventually you'd have the opportunity to inflict the same inane humiliation on subsequent younger classes. You knew it was a game and that the power wielded over you was temporary. That's a poor comparison to what happened in that prison.

Its the abuse of power, and the damage they did to Americas credibility that bothers me. I am sorry you went to school with bizarre homosexuals, but it doesnt make it acceptable behavior. I dont find hazing acceptable, I dont find the behavior in IRAQ acceptable. I find the whole handling of the occupation unacceptable. I find it abhorrent that people were stupid enough to photogragh. I find it reprehencible that the US govt new about this for a year and didnt stop it. I believe America needs to hold itself to a higher standard in the world. In this incstence they didnt.

By the way I was by far the bigest kid in my grade for most of my life, and I never felt compelled to have younger kids strip and wear hoods. I find that bizzare.
