JF, after watching some of the Rumsfeld hearings, I changed my mind about the sensationalism somewhat. It's not overboard as I originally feared, and I think both Rumsfeld and his questioners acted professionally in their statements. (Even the hecklers couldn't ruin that.)

It seems the public isn't overreacting that much, either. I was surprised to see most of them thinking Rumsfeld should keep his job.

John,

In reading the posts of the last two days, I am struck at how morality is a moving target with the right. For months now, DR, Harris, McMannis, Ten et al have been telling us to forget the WMDs, the real benefit of the war is that we removed a tyrant, one who brutalized his people.

Now that its been uncovered that while we haven't brutalized the Iraqis, there has been a fair amount of psychological and physical torture.......the right's morality tune suddenly has struck a sour note. Forget the months of moralizing. The Iraqis deserve all this attention from the sex pervs or from their American torturers.

After all, it was Iraqis who killed and mutilated 4 Americans. It was Arabs who caused 9/11. Muslims are killing Americans all over the world. Therefore, the Iraqis are getting their just deserts served on a platter of electric nodes to their genitals and light bulbs up their bums.

So there you have it........they have a morality that fits whatever scenario comes up.......an inconsistent morality if you will. A morality that works for all seasons.

Its what the rest of us call sociopathy!

John, what's idlots? I saw it in Ten's post [see below]. Is it a secret name for liberals, or just more bad spelling from the right? They are a funny crowd! ;~))
