That's like saying it's understandable that some serial killer ...........Horsepucky. There's a 'gulf' of a difference between the two, and I am justifying neither. In the situation in Iraq, non-injurious technicques required to extract information from hell-bent terrorists trying to kill both you/us and our soldiers has gotten out of hand do to mismanagement during long-term incarceration. Our Military was never designed as a "..police force.." or as "..corrections facility operators..". What they are really good at doing - very surgically - is kicking ass and taking names with minimal collateral damage to destroy a military enemy. I view the situation at the prison as a management problem that will be resolved now that the entire Chain-of-Command is aware of it. It's a damned black eye - because it left the realm of interrogation and slid into the realm of retribution - if not Sadism. But, it's not like we were castrating anybody, hanging them from the ceiling mounted meat-hooks, or feeding them into tree chippers feet first after raping their daughters and killing their mother who was forced to watch. What happened to those "..enemy combatants.." in Abacadabra prison is mild in terms of what they would be doing to our guys (..shown by what they did to their guys/people previously..) if the situation were reversed. If, in the hands of an approved and experienced interrogator, marching some 'wacko' around in front of women in the nude results in him giving up Osama Lama DingDong or that master-bomber/planner raghead buddy of his - I'm all for it. Before they float a bomb-ship full of plutonium and anthrax into the NJ-NYC harbor and kill "..YOU.." - my brother American. Were you on vacation in Fiji when 9-11 went down, or do you need an "..up-close-and-personal-Mega-re-run.." to understand who we are dealing with...??? Saddam and his thugs helped finance, facilitate and empower bin Ladin, and they would certainly dig up a hidden stock pile of explosives to fill a bomb-ship to hit us here in the USA - AGAIN; if we give them the chance. Please note, they've already found the Iraqi WMD making components strewn all over Europe (..which the New York Slimes has carefully ignored..). What's it going to take to convince you that the '..wacko's..' would kill you in your sleep tonight if they thought they had a bloody chance in hell of pulling it off. What I think, is that you - personally - should drive up there to the U ( limp wienie ) N, demand all the bribe money back from those hand-wringing boolshitters running the OIL-FOR-FOOD program, then hire all the baby-blue suited 'do-nothings' that you personally approve of, and subsequently go over there with them and supervise their operations. That way our "..war fighting.." Military can come home, and you can take the personal responsiblility for manaaging Iraq's prison system as though you were in charge of Attica - which is full of American thugs...!!! Better "..in charge..", than being another Taudry Teddy Monday Morning Armchair Quarterback - don't you think..??? And, perhaps, Jacque Chirac and the krauts would be interested in helping you out with the prison management problem, as opposed to getting their filty mits on the Iraqi oil supply again.... John .
