Boy that is one true statement. Wealth can only be accumulated by living below your means and SAVING.

Where I was reared we never bought a thing until the money was had to pay for it. I always wondered why the government did not reward those who saved rather than those who spent.(Economics was not my favorite subject). By saving one paid taxes on the savings. By spending one got deductions for spending. We never bought a home ( I have owned 6 ) a car or anything except for cash. Now, some people would say, you are crazy as a mortgage is deductible. However, I always felt by not owing anyone I could sleep at night.

DEBT always bothered me and now our government has the largest DEBT that it has ever had which is why I am opposed to man things this thread purports as reality. I enjoy hearing other opinions about the National debt which really bothers me.
