Is inconsistency the same as hypocrisy...?

There never seems to be room to change ones mind. I may have been for one thing and then found out by discovering new evidence that I really am not for that.. So, does that make me a hypocrite when I change my mind.

Example: Kerry was a warrior and fought the good fight for our Country. He saw things in Viet Nam and experienced whatever to make him change his mind about the war.

When he came home he felt he could best serve humanity and his country by trying to prevent other men from being killed. And so he demonstrated against the war. WHen we preclude the change of heart, of mind we are dictators.. We have a party line that must be followed at all costs. Serious debate is precluded... TRUTH DIES... because it cannot be discovered.

Is this hypocrisy ?
