No, CobaltBlue, I think it reinforces the point you're making. That is, if the point you are making is that you stop reading whenever you've found ANY basis for believing what you want to believe.

I disagree that it refutes the one point that I am making - Michael Moore admitted that Disney told him a year ago that it would not distribute the film. In other words, he is lying when he pretended that it was news. The issue you raise, that Miramax continued to make the movie, is irrelevant to that point.

The link from Moore is reasonable proof that he received conflicting signals...including six million additional reasons why Miramax WAS going to distribute the film. In context of Moore's explanation, any careful reader will understand that continued funding of his project by a wing of the same company threatening to kill it is absolutely relevant. Certainly it is a more subtle point than the attack dogs will normally allow for, yet it remains a quite reasonable refutation to the sound bite that Moore's motivation is only to seek publicity.
