I advocated that rumsfeld go now so GWB wouldnt have to. This issue, not only about prisons, but about DOD errors and failure to fess up to mistakes, especially in the past six months, would have already killed bushes chance for reelection except for the great help being given to him by JFK2.

Don,

The Democrats smell blood in the water. Their other issues (jobs/its the economy stupid!) are drying up.

However, this issue is not simply opportunism and we should not view it that way. If Rumsfeld knew about this issue and sat on it, or contributed in some way, he should resign (its an honor issue). On the other hand if this truly was the actions of a few - then punishing them and their supervisors should suffice.

As a supporter of the President, be happy its out now and will be old news by the election.

A side-benefit may be to review those prisons in America that "OZ" is patterned after - is that really what we want as a society?
