Well, those that hoped General Taguba's report would involve Rumsfield or Bush are gonna be disappointed. In summary General Taguba blames the problem at the prison at a breakdown in discipline, compounded by failure to adequately train the Reservists, and some conflicting orders apparently misunderstood by the troops at the prison and the acts of 7 specific guards and at least 3 private contractors and that NO ONE above the BATTALION COMMANDER had any idea what was going on. The WRITTEN POLICY in effect specifically forbade the actions taken. So, it looks to me as though the Senate Armed Forces Committee is going to have to find that this was a local incident, not the blame of anyone in the Administration. jdn

gold, Certainly not the women guarding prisoners in Iraq. But there is still a glass ceiling in most businesses.

Demeanor does help. I think it was her "I'm smarter than you, so listen" attitude that killed the health care plan. Now we have one from Bush that is expensive and achieves nothing, but he did his grinning boy act and it passed. <G>
