The federal government is turning into the monster that you always feared, all knowing, running rough shod [sic] over the constitution, over-regulating, overpending [sic], all under a Republican adminstration [sic]... I agree. Now: how does that make Libertarians "pathetic"? ...a supposedly conservative adminstration interested in getting government off the people's backs. Again, I agree. And I wouldn't call Republicans "supposedly" conservative - I'd say they are, quite completely, conservative. Shouldn't that hypocrisy make Republicans "pathetic"? Or are you, characteristically laughably, asserting that Libertarians are 'conservatives'? I bet a lot of Libertarians will vote for Bush this fall anyway. None that I know. If they did, I would certainly call their Libertarian values into question. What - aside from volatile emotions and a propensity to speak without thinking - would make you 'bet' that, anyway? The lesser of two evils, right? No - at least, not in my opinion. Two different, equally horrendous evils. The pseudofascist, Bush, vs. the socialist, Kerry. Again, though: how do Republican failures make Libertarians pathetic? LPS5
