The European Union commission wants to proceed today in Brussels against six new European Union countries because of too high new indebtedness. The authority plans deficit procedures against Poland, Chechia, Slowakia, Hungary and the Mediterranean islands of Malta and Cyprus. Brussels however will not set any deadlines yet. The most well-known Deficit sinners in the old European Union are Germany and France. Federal Minister of Finance Hans Eichel has in the meantime again expressed his support for the stability pact.
