We have a new disease on Hemlocks here in the High Country of NC... It is insidious and cannot be stopped. IN time the entire Hemlock population will die just like the blight Dutch Elm and Chestnut trees. It is an insect that hibernates and then spins a caccoon around itself and when it emerges it and eats the needles off the tree. It has no predators... SO....

I use a SAFER Insecticide soap spray to my smaller trees where I can reach. The humungus trees that reach several stories high will die. It is predicted in about 5 years max.

I live on a river that runs from a National park. The stream is stocked with trout for FLY fishing only and it requires releasing the fish.

THere are no pollutants in the river. It does not pass any ones property who could pollute it. WHat a gift...

Small things to be appreciated in our environment.

There are more than two actions that can be taken with respect to Iraq.

We could turn the mess over to a coalition of Arabs with U.N. help.

We have no business in Iraq ..........

None.

Staying there to see this hideous thing through is moronic. I can't believe that the Senate's bipartisan approach is to see this ridiculous adventure through to some kind of sensible end. That just legitimizes the insane decision to invade Iraq, thus exempting Bush from criticism for that foolish decision. Besides, the situation is going to continue to worsen daily.

Evacuation. Immediately. I can't believe it's not the Democratic Party's response to the insanity. The longer the insanity continues the more likely the decision to invade Iraq will be considered the worst foreign policy decision in the history of the United States.

It's clear to me that Bush is the most idiotic president in the history of this country. I hold every goofball who voted for him back in 2000 responsible for the ludicrous current situation in Iraq.
