But no news cast that I heard mentioned accents. Anyway, I think you are attempting to provide an after-the-fact justification for invading Iraq, on the basis of fighting Al-Qaeda. So how does that effort advance by giving Al-Qaeda another 100,000 square miles, and 20 million population to hide in ? If anything, the killing of Nick Berg, right at the seat of the occupation force, shows that it isn't going well. This crime, against an American in Iraq, would have been unthinkable before the invasion. Not because Saddam's government was not vicious. But because they feared the consequences. So now who is there to hold to account in this chaos ? Is Bremer going to answer for the lack of security ? Sarmad

Actually, I think the second argument is a little more powerful because the acts there were done BY those officially employed by the American government while any friggen outfit with a few assholes can buy a camera and cut someone's head off. This kind of "we're the good guys and they're evil incarnated" has a lot of holes in it. It especially leaks when the author tries to lay the actions of a few on the many. We have many differences of opinion, of culture and of politics with the Muslim world but they are not, because of those differences, the bogeyman that some radicals would have us believe. Sometimes I wonder if you have any idea that you're being manipulated into a blind hatred of all things Muslim?

The Islamist in the Berg video had a Egyptian accent. To equate Egyptian Islamists with Sunni Ba'athists and Shi'a followers of Sadr is foolish, ignorant, or both. Edit: I really need to quit banging my head against this particular brick wall. So I'll simply say that hating all eeeevil moooooslims is as stupid as hating all joooooooos and leave it at that.
