"If this nation is to resume any semblance of playing the mediator in the Middle East, demonizing one side at the expense of the other is not an option, even if you support it. "

Agreed. Thats where i disagreed with bush endorsement of sharons plan. Arabs who really want peace know that there will be no right of return(other than perhaps symbolic) plus a land trade to allow israel to stay in certain settlements in trade for other lands. This is the deal struck in 2000 that regardless of arafat claims was a fair resolution for them. 1967 borders are now long gone. Any peace will be based on clinton/camp david/barak/tava unless this infant tada goes on much longer if it hasnt already. Mike

Michelino,

The left (and you) have become very religious. Everything the arabs or Jihadi's do is caused by us. Is there no responsibility on the part of the Jihadi's in all this?

You should view the Berg video and then maybe comment for us on how to negotiate with Al Queda. Oops - your type denies they exist in Iraq.

Tough luck that the video shows otherwise.

John

Unfortunately for peace-minded Israelis, the Palestinians who want to fight to the end (who are being paid well by Saudi Arabia and Iran to do so, I might add) are running the shop. They have the guns. Barak offered 95% + of the territories to Arafat, who responded by demanding the 'right of return' and launching a terrorist war. That is what happened. Blathering on about peace-minded folk on both sides is just a sign of your refusal to come to terms with reality. The Palestinian peace camp has been MIA for years. That is why Sharon is now in power in Israel.

If Arafat didn't like Sharon, maybe he shouldn't have elected him.

I'm sure by now that Nadine has pointed out the obvious
flaws to your POV. I'll note that it's obvious you haven't
kept up with events over the last 10 years or so, but that
hasn't stopped you from pontificating the liberal left
mantra.
