The beheading was a really, really stupid political move by the I-fascists. Here's why: 1.- It deflects media attention from Abu Ghraib; 2.- It sets up a stark contrast between what we do when we don't live up to our values (investigation, prosecution, and punishment of the guily) and what they do; 3.- It reinforces Bush's reelection prospects while diminishing Kerry's. Of course, it is also possible that more incidents like the beheading will simply reinforce positions that voters already have.
