Please dont attempt to compare Gitmo to the in theater prisons. Terrorists are treated much differently then POW's. IMHO the book would require us to treat anyone humanely BUT in the case of terrorists we absolutely MUST get info ASAP and there is no doubt in my mind that we conduct far more PSYCHOLOGICAL pressure in Gitmo then we should be committing against POWS. As to Afghanistan, I no longer have much personal info from that theater, but I would point out that much of that operation is now conducted by NATO forces and the new AFGHAN army so we are not operating in a vacuum there thus its possible some treatment is occurring that we wouldnt ourselves find acceptable. Plus, at this point I would guess anyone being imprisoned today is considered a terrorist and not a POW. jdn
