Immune system eating his lungs. Two weeks ago the medication caused his neck to swell up bigger than his shoulders and he went into a coma. His condition doesn't warrant a transplant because the disease could come back. OTOH he could get a transplant of a left lung from a smoker which they can't use for regular transplants. For the left lung they don't have to remove the heart. It's yes he can then no he can't, over and over while he's still in a coma.
