He seems to be casting doubt on the VERACITY of the action, not supporting beheading, or justifying it.

"Who on the left is trying to justify violence? "

I still don't see this happening.
5 stars for your creativity- and 0 for being on point

Seems to me he is talking about the same thing I was- conservatives using this terrible episode as an excuse to justify more violence against Iraqis, when we can't even be sure who the perpetrators were yet.

Yeah, they're not "justifying" it. That would be too tough. Like "justifying" 911. Instead they're saying its a Bush conspiracy. God, I find this disgusting. Either way its letting our enemies escape blame for horrendous crimes.

In addition to stockman scott and ralph emerson, here are several left of center posters reacting to the story of the video of Nick Berg's head being sawed off with a butcher knife (beheading is too clean a term to use to describe what was done) by suggesting it is propaganda by the Bush administration.

Amazing that their first thought on hearing of this is to try to figure out a way to claim the Bush administration did it. As if this were the first American Al Qaida has ever killed or the first American al Zarqawi killed. As if there isn't an Al Qaida fatwa out calling for the murder of Americans. Heck, it isn't even the first Al Qaida beheading of an American.

If ANY left of center people are upset at Al Qaida for this atrocity, I've missed seeing them say so. To me, this reinforces the idea that to the left the only enemy is George Bush.
