I sense some avoidance here. "major spending cuts are necessary, including in defense" Where else besides defense?(And how would you like to characterize yourself tough on defense if you wish to cut spending there?) In my eyes, your energy "crisis" is a little over the top -- our current situation has been building for many years, and although concerning, is not at the critical stage yet. I would like to see the US start making strides now, but realistically, knowing the way our gov't works,it won't be dealt with properly by either side until we finally do reach the crisis state. Your forward thinking on energy is one of the few things I can appreciate from you -- it's too bad you have to throw in that garbage about it all being some GOP, Bushie, whatever.
