I wonder why the author said nothing about Rumsfeld going to Baghdad to shake hands with Saddam? About the providing of arms and military support to Iraq? This kind of support from the most powerful country in the world emboldened Saddam into being a murderous madman who exacted a toll on his own people, funded by the US.

Somethings are better left unsaid, I guess.

good article. of course some readers will wish to travel back in time and point to some meeting with Saddam or some support we gave Saddam against Iran. from this they attempt the leap to 9/11 and argue that we really caused it on ourselves.
