That's exactly how I'd describe myself, which is sort of amusing.

Many of the people here would describe themselves the same way. We don't all have to be in "lockstep."

There is no one on SI as close to me in thinking as you. I could without hesitation and without reading it sign my name to any position you took. I couldn't come close with anyone else. Just recently I disagreed with you re the race factor in coverage of atrocities. I was surprised by even that small difference.

I had occasion the other day in a discussion with Nadine to do a compare-and-contrast between Bill and me. I identified the salient differences between him and me as Iraq and his membership in a political party. I'm not certain that those two are even separate. His view on Iraq might be explainable by party affiliation, although the way that differing temperaments were affected by 9/11 may also be in play.

Anyway, there is something about joining a club that affects you and your positions and that's the key difference between that eagle and this eagle. IMO and FWIW.
