the thing is running government is a lot like running a big company. If you cut all R&D you are dead. If you overspend on it, you are also dead. Thats how government is. Some things like health care and education and local governments need funding to maintain. Bush is starving the beast and costing us in the long run. Kerry needs to spend some and save some with a sense of balance and if any pork is in the plan, there needs to be a payoff in the form of jobs or something. Sounds simple, Clinton did it, lets see Kerry implement a plan like this. I am confident he can with the Clinton outstanding econ team. I also read that Kerry will consider Rubin as AGs replacement, which rocks. Rubin is pretty young still too.
