Hitler abhorred Socialism. There was no state ownership of the businesses, per se, but they were in close partnership with the state - feeding off of the war machine. Hitler also crushed the trade unionist movement. I agree that the US is becomeing more and more like Nazi Germany, especially under the leadership of Jr.. I content that National Socialism or facsism is just as bad as Communism. I like a balanced social-democratic system, complete with civil rights, similar to what we have here in Canada.
