Elvin Jones, IMHO the greatest jazz drummer ever, passed away last night. Whenever a jazz giant wanted to cut a landmark album, they asked Elvin to sit in. John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins all had him on drums for their best albums. apnews1.iwon.com

The biggest swindle going on right now is the government CPI numbers. A large fraction of the CPI is based on rental prices, and rentals are DOWN, even in San Francisco, because everyone is bidding up houses with cheap loans. You can't borrow money to rent.

And then they take out food and energy to figure the "core" inflation rate.

Not only does this understatement affect Social Security payments, but many pensions are adjusted on the basis of the CPI number.

Time to charter buses to empty out the nursing homes and retirement communities for the next election.
