Bullshit. Complete, utter, rank, odious bullshit

NO! Absolutely true. We can clean up our own messes. But who, what media, calls a terrorist a terrorist, or points out that people who plant bombs in marketplaces, who blow up the UN and the Red Cross and the Shrine of Ali have NO moral high ground to stand on?

We hold ourselves to a higher standard because we have proclaimed, for all the world to hear, that we operate according to a higher standard

So we do. So we will. But how come the same world media that pounds on us ad nauseum for any moral failures, calls Al Qaeda terrorists and Ba'athist thugs "insurgents" and "freedom fighters"? If human rights are universal, shouldn't the media care about the victims of Islamists and fascists also? When did it become to fashion to count as a human rights abuse only if you were killed by the "right" group of killer? Saddam Hussein killed millions, and the entire Arab world, and now all of Europe, which seems to have caught the insanity, cares less for millions of dead than a few dozen humiliated prisoners.

Because when Arabs kill or torture each other, there is no story.

A bit strong, don't you think?

Nadine has a valid point. To characterize in the manner you did is not only rude but seems to also ignore a few examples which support her point.

Where was the Western media's moral outrage when King Hussein did to the Palestinians things that the Israelis don't even contemplate?

Where was the Western media's moral outrage when Assad flattened a city in a fit of pique, killing thousands of innocent civilians?

Where was the Western media's moral outrage when Saddam gassed Kurds and Iranians?

Where is the Western media's moral outrage when the Saudis decapitate and mutilate their own?

Where is the Western media's moral outrage over what is taking place in the Sudan?

I'll tell you where it is: MIA.
