Gustave > What they have been doing to us for decades is policy -- official, systematic, and racist.

That's absolutely true and, indeed, it has been a policy of escalating violence and intransigence. F U, in other words.

But, in my opinion, the policy has failed and both Israel and the US are worse off now than if they had not embarked on it in the first place. Indeed both, once proud and exemplary, have now attained the status of pariah nations and this will only get worse the longer the above-mentioned policy continues.

The big loser in this is clearly Israel and it is also my opinion that instead of trying to be smart in previous negotiations with the Palestinians, it would have been advantageous to have concluded a deal on the best possible terms --- and when there was, at least, some goodwill. Now everyone can see Israel has a losing hand and there is no goodwill. In fact, hatred. And what is worse (for Israel), the Palestinians today have nothing to lose -- Israel has everything to lose. Israel is the one who HAS to have peace, the Palestinians don't give a damn even if they die. They have no future. Israel has seen to that. Israel is the victim of its own policies.

Here's an interesting book review.
