First of all, that was not directed to you. So, I don't know who "we" and "us" are.

I have clarified and supported my comments to the member to whom that response was directed, to their satisfaction, I believe. It's up to Michelino to either confirm, deny, or remain silent on that matter.

I believe I have responded to all if not most of your TOU reports, often with explanation of why your request or complaint was or was not acted upon or not. The fact that you may not agree with the (in)action does not mean that it was "not addressed". More often than not, members who take exception to administrative activities do so without benefit of the full set of contributing factors, including the subject member's history. While I can't do anything about that universally, I try to be as forthcoming as I can to the involved parties in individual cases.

>>It might help to remember here that we are, after all, paying customers.

That's true of some, not of most. Nonetheless, that's something I rarely look at. Member conduct is the issue, not how much or how little someone paid for membership. Member history, where they post, and how they conduct themselves are something that is considered, for both the complainant and the subject of the complaint.

>>Either this is a personal website where the owner reigns supreme and kicks out anyone he does not like and does not have to explain his actions to anyone, or it is a business that should properly address complaints from paying customers.

Zonder, I have been more open, public, and timely in responding to requests and explaining my actions than any past admin on this site, which I'll add was a mandated objective when I took this position. It would be far, far easier for me to operate behind the scenes and rarely engage in discussion or debate. The individual outcomes would be the same, but the membership would not have the benefit of seeing the process and gaining a better understanding of the prevailing administrative paradigm. Contrary to the belief of some, administrative actions are not intended as punishment, but rather as an inducement for members to change their behavior. (That will undoubtedly provoke cries of "we don't need to have our behavior changed" from members who openly flaunt the TOU and prefer anarchy and no administrative intervention, i.e. the very people who need to change their behavior.)

So, in my opinion, what you are considering to be lack of explanation and lack of responsiveness really amounts to lack of agreement with those explanations and responses. There's not much I can do about that.
