I'm an independent too, not a Democrat. If Kerry want's to raise taxes on those making over 200k, it's fine by me, and most Americans. Of the two men, Bush is the PROVEN incompetent. Even one of his big supporters, Bill Kristol, has called Bush incompetent. I wouldn't have chosen John Kerry, but that's what we're looking at. A proven incompetent vs. an unknown. I'll go with Kerry.

I am perfectly willing to "cough up" those stupid Bush tax cuts. The devastation has hit the federal budget hard and consequently we have had 3 out of 4 Bush years as bear markets in the stock market. This is unheard of in my entire investing life. The USD is so low its difficult to travel. In exchange for this mess and the trillions in wealth destruction from our stock markets we get a few hundred or thousands in a tax cut. Typical Bush thinking.
