Hawk, you have all the buzzwords down. And in capital letters, too. EMPOWER. You babble on about "creating democratic and modern societies," but ignore a central fact:

Every where we have tried to do this through force of arms we have failed. And everywhere democracy has emerged from totalitarianism--South Korea, Taiwan, S.E. Asia, Central America, Eastern Europe, it happened without force of arms, or after force of arms had failed. In fact, the history of US actions since World War II has been to prop up dictatorships and then madly scramble when they are finally overthrown by democrats. Of course, if the democrats happen to be leftists, they had to be crushed since they might have opposed US power or business interests.

You do have Iraq classified correctly, along with Vietnam, Afghanistan. I would add Lebanon, Haiti, Somalia and other failed experiments of imposed democracy.

Get off your ass and get to Iraq, you blubbering hypocrit. Your vision of democracy through superior firepower is being paid for with other people's lives.
