You misunderstand my post. I only stated my view of the definition of democracy. I do not claim that we have perfected the practice. Certainly, we've taken a step backward under our current administration with the so-called Patriot Act. but how sad that it took even western civilizations and your country to give these basic rights that you demand from others so tongue in cheek some solid ground work a lot of blood shed and a lot of time.. And I definitely do not demand these rights for the rest of the world. That is our president who feels it is his calling. It is my wish that every country is able to choose their own path. And I believe it is the responsibility of every people to fight for their path, not our responsibility to endow it upon them.
