Alan, re: Unfortunately, the islamic terrorists take advantage of us by exploiting what our freedoms. Prior to 9-11, they entered the country and traveled within it freely. They study us and learn much by reason of the transparency of our government, with televised reports of congressional and commission hearings. They read the papers and watch the news, taking in stories about where our defenses are weak. They do a remarkably effective job of exploiting our freedoms for their benefits, and there will be another significant terrorist strike when we least expect it. Then why are there so remarkably few foreign terrorist acts on our shores? There have been only two, both committed by the same guy (bin Laden). It's not like Europe in the 70's, with bombs exploding every week on the London subway and the Paris cafes. I'm continually amazed by the lack of terrorist activity in this country. And I agree we are overdue. John
