To: SI Dave who wrote (11065 ) 5/24/2004 11:59:38 AM From: zonder Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 20773 I responded to your complaints Nowhere have you explained how and why some very obvious TOU violators, who go around insulting people right and left (and not only on GWB ) are still around. This has nothing to do with whoever you think are my "friends". It's noteworthy that you haven't complained about the non-stop vulgarity end explicit sexual content on the other similarly disposed thread No it is not "noteworthy", because the issue here is not "zonder's favourite threads on SI" but "what constitutes banning offenses on SI". The former is of concern to nobody except (and not even much to) myself. The latter is a clarification of SI policy that quite a few people are finding rather perplexing, and that is the question you are asked. What's the difference, other than one set of violators are "friends" and the other set isn't? Ban everybody who insults, attacks, or in another way violates TOU. You think I will be gasping in horror? My point is, and I am starting to despair by now as I really thought it clear from the beginning, that what constitutes banning for one SI member should constitute the same for all. That is, if vulgarity is an offence that SI members are to be kicked out for, it should be applied to all, not just a handpicked few. I don't pretend to know the reason why they are handpicked. Unfortunately, and in absence of alternate explanation, your statement re "friends" seems to apply: What's the difference, other than one set of violators are "friends" and the other set isn't? I'd rather not believe that is the case. That is why I have asked the question of why some of the foul mouthed serial insulters on SI are still around. A question still unanswered. Would you like some examples from OTHER threads than GWB? I would be happy to pull together a couple of posts from persons who are still very much among us...
