Jorj, re: Why are you convinced that the war on terror is a failure? I've seen a number of examples where plots were thwarted. And there hasn't been an attack in our borders since 9/11. Hell, in all of American history, there has only been one other half-assed attack, 8 years prior. From 9/12, I've been saying the threat of terrorism is over-blown. Talk to an actuary; you odds of dying by a terrorist attack is so slim, a tree limb falling is more likely to kill you for Gods sakes. Another hysterical reaction; I would happy to have that debate, if you are interested. Terrorism is a political, not a pragmatic consideration. re: this assumes that resources are being diverted away from al qaeda in favor of Iraq. I believe this is a bad assumption. Count the troops in each place. re: As has been pointed out, a direct military assault is not the proper strategy to go after someone who has declared war on you, who also does not confine themselves to any border. Now you are parsing!?! bin Laden DID IT!!! WE KNOW WHERE HE IS!!! al Qaeda has comitted 90% of terrorist acts in the last 10 years!!! They are the terrorism in the world. bin Laden founded and heads al Qaeda!!! You guys are so incensed over some guy getting beheaded in Iraq... 1000's got beheaded in the twin towers by bin Laden. Why the hell don't we storm the Pakistan Afghanistan border, and kill the SOB? Why is Bush not doing that!?! What the hell are we doing in Iraq; they were just sitting there do nothing while bin laden was plotting and while our country was in shock. (And don't tell me that going after Iraq first is some great subversive strategy. In your heart you know better... Get the guy that did it, period.) John
