I'm trying to avoid this for my own mental health but you keep saying we should have stormed the Afgan, Pak border.

Don't you think we would have loved to?

We could not unless we wanted to ignore Pakistan who would not give us permission to operate on their side.

What part of this should we have ignored and done differently?

I've been saying the threat of terrorism is over-blown. Talk to an actuary; you odds of dying by a terrorist attack is so slim, a tree limb falling is more likely to kill you for Gods sakes.

How many people did you know that were killed on 9/11? How many people do you know who have been killed by a limb falling down? My answer is two and zero respectively.

When I was spending a fair amount of time in Europe, I was amazed at how blase' their views toward terrorism were. They accept it as a part of life. It's no big deal. In one trip, I was staying two blocks away from a jewish deli/meat store that was bombed (in Nice France). It was no big deal to the locals. I don't ever want to get to the point where I am accepting and complacent about terrorism.

Another hysterical reaction

Which part of my reaction do you consider hysterical?

Count the troops in each place.
Do you think that is an accurate determination?

WE KNOW WHERE HE IS!!!

What you mean "we", white man?

Maybe we don't know where he is. He had a fair amount of time to move around before we attacked and being the smart guy that he is and actually knowing when 9/11 was planned, don't you think that there is a chance that he was nowhere near Afghanistan on 9/11?

What the hell are we doing in Iraq; they were just sitting there do nothing while bin laden was plotting and while our country was in shock.

I think you are probably not very well informed and are too accustomed to eating the crap that is spoon fed to you by the media.

Get the guy that did it, period.) </i<

Maybe, just maybe, some of the big brains out there understand that getting bin laden does not solve the problem. Maybe they understand that terrorism is a political consideration that is inherent in a specific culture and that a multi pronged strategy that deals with the bigger issues is the best approach instead of just killing one guy who is the product of a sick sub-culture.

And if I must say.....you are sounding a bit hysterical in your post.

John......" re: this assumes that resources are being diverted away from al qaeda in favor of Iraq. I believe this is a bad assumption."....

Your response to this...." Count the troops in each place."....

What each place are you talking about?

And just how do you suggest American troops be used to kill islam terrorists who are dispersed thorughout the world?
