No one is saying that at all but effectively thats what seems to be happening as someone currently of lower rank is taking over in a couple of months.

No, no, no, Michael. He is a three star. The present Vice-Chief, who is a four star, is taking over. They wanted to upgrade the position.

The new guy is a four star. The last I read - Sanchez is (or was) up for his fourth star. If he doesn't get it in a few months or so that will suggest to me he is being spanked by DOD. OTOH, I think the congress has to bless such a promotion, so with today's politics, who knows.

IMHO, Sanchez screwed up in not reprimanding Karpinski which was the suggestion by his superiors. Instead he admonished her. Big difference in military or government.

The overriding point is that the military is doing stalwart work over as far as I'm concerned.
