Thanks. I took a stab at "cultural Marxism" and seemingly turned up two strains of analysis -- one centered around universities, talking about French philosophers and post structuralism and postmodernism, and one centered around journalists like Pat Buchanan.

The level of discourse was not high. It seems like "cultural Marxism" is a catch-phrase for a lot of disparate things that the speaker doesn't like. Nobody runs around calling herself a cultural Marxist.

Well, that's Christina Hoff Sommers for you. It's a point she makes often. There are different positions within feminism but I wouldn't take her way of making the distinction too seriously. You can easily see who she likes and dislikes. Not a very careful distinction.
