Thank you for that thoughtful response James.

I do not have a 'with us or against us' attitude except where clear cut enemies on the attack are concerned. The prisoners in Abu Graib, for example were not clear cut enemies. They were labeled detainees for questioning. Some were totally innocent, some were terrorists or declared enemies committed to attacking. It is unreasonable to treat them all as murdering terrorists. It is also unreasonable to consider the entire US military and chain of command up to Bush as torturing thugs.

It is a plausible conspiracy theory to consider the possibility that the CIA or similar group killed Nick Berg and then set it up to look like a terrorist event. There is a lot of fishy stuff about that case. I am not entirely convinced we have heard (or ever will) the whole truth about it. That doesn't make the C. theory a fact and it shouldn't be treated as fact. Now we have Chris C. Posting that Rumsfelt snuck over to Iraq and personally beheaded Berg... and when challenged we have Silvester80 insisting that it is not far fetched. If not far fetched then it is what, realistic?

I have challenged jlallen and Mr. long (card carrying right wingers) in the same tone that I challenge anyone else who seems to be politicizing things to ridiculous levels.

This politicising and polarizing of these serious issues is so bureaucratically corrupt that it is paralizing America from doing anything effective. We are going down bickering on the bandwagons while the revolutionary world wide organizations of terrorists are preparing to annialate western society. They have done it via military coups in small regions and Countries.

If I didn't here the flip flopping of the right wing (the tortures were just a fraternity prank vs the beheading was terrorism, and embassy or coalition bombings are terrorism where as our attacks on villages is militarily justified) ... and the left wing (The tortures were heinous crimes that the USA admin should be punished for, but the beheadings and terrorist bombings of innocents is understandable) .... well...

Do you get it? prolly not.
