That was a saddening post for two guys who were children of the 60's. What a waste of resources,(Big McMansions for two people) and a waste of energy (Soccer Mom's driving Suburbans and Expeditions). People just never learn just a race of McLemmings.

It's more like 80 miles, to the employment centers in San Jose. Through crawling traffic.

Re: I noticed gops of "financing this and that" signage everywhere, so I'm certain bubble finance is big part of the story here.

This is very much the case here in So Cal as well.
