his differs from all the previous conflicts in that our enemy doesn’t have or even claim to have any constructive ideology

This is similar to the U.S. occupation of the Phillipines.
The people had diverse religion and different languages.
The were united only in their desire to see the U.S. gone.

gotta reply, since I think you miss much of Islamic ways
but to be honest, we are 90% in synch (hate to admit it)

edit
it seems you might have meant our enemy to be Islamic Radical Fundys
if so, then let's change the question, and I stick with my answer
and as for your reply, I tend to agree
----------

Islam dont have much objective to destroy and conquer
they instead have rabid anger that their culture has failed, that they cannot admit it, that they are unable to provide daily needs, so they must turn to foreigners for blame

they want to destroy the outsiders whom they invite in
therein lies their paradox
due to their educational and language failures, they import most of all talent
examine Saudi Arabia, where I believe 90% of all labor is done by Egyptians, Philipinos, and Portuguese

Bernard Lewis offers an excellent perspective in depth
the Islamics have no interest in domination
only the control of themselves, which they have lost
from their painful realized failure
Lewis focuses a great deal on educational failure

imagine in the USA, almost all schools being catholic, but absurd catholic, with teaching that all jews need to be sliced up on pizzas and calzones, that mindless incantation of bible verses passes for an entire class each year, other regimental subjects are given in passing trivially, and graduates are stupid as effing fence posts

that is Islamic Madrassas (schools)
